Logo Projective Objective

For the project, we had to base off our initials to create a logo. Manipulating the font was recommended with the note that we needed to create our own brand identity. The logo was the base for applications for a graphic design tailored business card and resume.

Ideation

I brainstormed designs based on my initials “E” and “N” for Evelyn Ngo. I started with ten concepts that focused on the black-and-white form—then selected four to add color to with blue and pink for my brand identity. The third draft shows me using color gradients for a clean and unique look as a logo.

Finalized

I liked the simple design using three lines per letter allowing for consistency that ties them both together. In a way, there’s movement in the direction of the lines being implied to say what letter is what. The file allows me to choose what colors I want to customize for flexibility to let me put the initials on anything.

Application

For the final step, I needed to put the initials on a business card. I expanded on my color palette and applied similar elements from the initials to the background. I wanted a professional and clean aesthetic with simplified icons for socials. In a way, it became an extension of the design and what I wanted my brand identity to be.
